Today, We are going to talk about the best web hosting companies in India and settle this debate once and for all about which hosting company is the best, which one provides the best value for your money and which one is outright pathetic.
And the only way to find that out is a ‘web hosting competition’.
A competition which is a fierce battle between the top Web Hosting providers to get our money. For this web hosting competition, what we did was actually purchased shared hosting accounts from 9 different companies and tested and watched the performance.
We will be showing you all our results of which hosting company performed the best and which hosting company performed the worst because we want to provide truthful and non-biased accurate results of which hosting company truly is the best and the most reliable.
We have used the same size theme on all these hosting companies to provide you a non-biased test to being it fair for each hosting company. For this testing, we have used a plugin called wp Hosting Performance Check by Scott Farrel. This plugin will record the performance of the Hosting company, check their loading time, watch the browser load speed and the server response time and also the technology level of the hosting platform.

If you want to see the results in detail, here is the complete list from the best to worst:
1. First is HostGator:
They provide Unlimited Domains, Unmetered Disk Space, Unmetered Transfer, Unlimited Email Account(s), Free Dedicated IP, Free SSL Certificate, 1-click installation, Free cPanel, New – PHP 7.1 with their business plan which is Rs. 559 per month which we think is extremely reasonable for all the services they are providing. Now let’s go ahead and take a look at their results:
Now as you can see, their results were very good, in fact they were among probably the top 5 web hosting companies out there.
Here you can check the average load speed is around 2.7 seconds and their server response time is very good which is 0.3 seconds. Looking at the average ‘time to respond’, their servers are consistent, and this consistency right here is what matters the most. This is what you want to see when you’re looking for a good web hosting company. Well, in fact, they are the most underrated company on this entire list. They performed at a hundred percent uptime as well.
I’ve used them for the past 4 years, so I already knew that they were fast. I didn’t know they were this fast, to be honest, looking at the results right here they performed really well, and it kind of blew a lot of other hosting companies out of the water and I was very surprised on the results now looking at these results right here you can kind of say well they’re among one of the best.
I will 100% recommend HostGator to you whether you want to set-up a blog or run an eCommerce site. HostGator will take care of all your needs.
2. Next is WP engine:
WP Engine is one of the best web hosting provider. They are fast, Uses Genesis Framework, they provide a staging environment as well. But all that shines is not always gold. They have their cons as well and which are big.
They are expensive web hosting on this entire list where their plans go up to a hundred and fifty dollars a month. That is like a year of hosting with other hosting providers in this list. So it is pretty expensive, The Genesis framework they use is not at all beginner-friendly and you will run into problems if you do not have experience with genesis. And there were numerous report of them increasing the monthly charges without knowledge of the customer. but let’s just go ahead and take a look at their results right here
As you can see from the results, they have almost the same loading speed as HostGator. Only a little bit slower. They’re at 3.8 seconds and WP engine is at 4.1 average seconds now those three milliseconds difference never going to get noticed with the human eye. But for the price they are selling their plans at, I’m going to say they’re a little expensive.
We can see that they actually had a good server response time and very good speed. I will recommend them but they are a little expensive. But if your client doesn’t care about money, you can go for them by all means.
3. Next one is Hostinger:
Hostinger was among one of the companies to have downtime during our tests. Unfortunately, every other company I’ve recommended in the Top 5 positions has had a hundred percent uptime in 30 days. Hostinger was down here for about 1 hour and 46 minutes in 30 days so that’s kind of bad.
Though they are cheap and low cost, but that hardly makes up for the bad performance they are showing. And when you are in the game of ranking your blog or website, slow speed is your greatest enemy. What will be the point of buying hosting at a low cost which sucks performance and speed wise?
Let’s just go ahead and take a look at their results.
They are among the not so good category or you can say average hosting companies, because of downtime and average load speed of around 4.1 seconds with a slow server response time so I would not recommend them.
4. Next is SiteGround:
SiteGround is a web hosting company founded in 2004 by a few university friends and have been providing hosting services in India for quite some time now. They provide 10GB web space, 10,000 visits monthly (non-unique, which is a bummer), SSL & HTTPS, email accounts, Cloudflare CDN and control panel with their shared hosting plans.
Unfortunately, they didn’t perform that well either. looking at this graph right here you will know why
Their average speed is 4.3 seconds which is not great. According to Google, this is considered to be slow. The average server response time is even worse. I will not recommend this hosting for people who wants to rank higher on google because website loading speed is also one of the ranking factors for Google and they tend to prefer and show fast loading sites on their search results page.
5. Next is GoDaddy:
Now I hear a lot about GoDaddy everyone out there saying GoDaddy this, GoDaddy that. Well, let’s go ahead and find out now.
GoDaddy’s pricing is pretty competitive they’re actually pretty cheap they actually have really good customer service – 24-hour customer service however when you do call their customer service they’re trying to sell you stuff and to me that’s really annoying. Now here results that I had for GoDaddy and I will be honest they were not that bad but not good either.
Here are some of the tests that I’ve seen so they had an average loading speed of 3.8 seconds and their server response of 1 second which is ok. Here are the results and they’re consistent and that is what we’re looking for – consistency. So looking at these results right here I’m up to say yeah you know GoDaddy isn’t a bad choice but not a good choice either. You can go with GoDaddy if you have a very limited budget. Even then I would suggest you switch to a different web hosting company as soon as you can afford.
6. Next is DreamHost:
Last year I did recommend DreamHost they do have somewhat of competitive pricing for shared hosting but their support really sucks in fact they have no support so if you get a plan with them you can’t call them so good luck because all you get is a live chat and the results I had
from DreamHost weren’t that good as well.
They have a long load speed and their server response time was average as well. So again you can see the graph right here and they did perform at a consistently average rate. Their load speed was just a little too slow for me so I really couldn’t recommend them with confidence.
7. Next is Inmotion hosting:
With Inmotion hosting, their prices are competitive, they do have a free domain and free SSL, they have a decent customer service but let’s take a look at their results.
So right here we can see their results, they didn’t perform as bad as A2Hosting however they’re not on my top-five list either. So right here you can see they did have somewhat of average load speed of around 4.9 seconds. Their server response time as well was a little too high as well and by looking at this graph, you can see that they’re consistently slow right there. So you know, by looking at this graph I can never recommend in motion. There are way better web hosting companies in this list then in motion.
8. Next is A2Hosting:
You might have seen A2Hosting from a lot of other blogs and other videos because they’re very popular. Unfortunately, A2Hosting performed among one of the bottom five web hosting companies. Now I myself used to use A2Hosting in the past and I don’t remember them being that terrible but I did switch over two years ago because I just wasn’t happy with and unfortunately they had the longest average loading speed which was around eight seconds.
So if you’re using A2Hosting, then keep reading this article because I’m gonna give you a better hosting company to go with.
9. And finally BlueHost:
You might have heard BlueHost, a company established in the year 2003. They provide FREE Domain Name for 1st Year, SSL Certificate Included, 1-Click WordPress Install, 24/7 Support etc. But their performance is among one of the worst as well unfortunately here are the results:
Their average low speed was around 6.9 seconds with their server response time around 1.9 seconds as well and you can see that they’re
consistently performing at a very bad rate.
Many web hosts offer limited features in their starter packages and then expand the offerings (sometimes tremendously) for higher-tier plans. Read the small print to make sure the plan you are selecting offers what you need.
If you need a site builder application to design your website, make sure that the low-cost web host you are picking actually comes with a site builder. Many of them require you to pay for the builder as a separate add-on. Website builders usually don’t cost a lot of money, but if you can find a web host that includes one for free, that’s money in your pocket. And, if it’s integrated with your hosting service, you’re more likely to have a smooth, supported experience.
You also want a web host with 24/7 customer support:
if not by phone, then at least by chat. Forums, knowledge bases, and help tickets are all well and good, but sometimes you just need to communicate with another human to get things ironed out as quickly as possible. That said, not all 24/7 customer support teams are equal. Companies HostGator and WP engine boast incredibly knowledgeable and helpful customer support squads—a fact that we confirmed in our in-depth reviews of those web hosting services.
Now I really hope that this article has helped you in a lot of ways and you can kind of find out what’s a more reliable web hosting company because I want to provide you all with truthful non-biased accurate results.
